猿島の観測台要塞であった猿島には多くの砲台跡が残っている。

砲台の機能であった「監視」という行為を、

猿島から見える美しい景色を「観測」する装置へ転換。

人々の豊かさや平和を願うメッセージを込めた。

The ruins of many gun batteries remain on Sarushima, which was once a fortress.

The turrets, which functioned as facilities of "surveillance,"

have been transformed into installations for "observation" of the beautiful scenery seen from Sarushima.

In doing this, we hope to send a message of hope for people's prosperity and peace.
