Work Details
This work was exhibited at the 2022 Kameyama Triennale. The landscape seen from the camellia seed shell at the bottom of the work is drawn on a black paper file using that seed shell. Using what can be drawn in brown on the outside of the seed shell and a whitish color on the inside, I drew a landscape of Kameyama seen from the seed shell. It was publicly produced in Marugame City at the Setouchi Triennale in the same year.
(The camellia seeds used for drawing are also attached to the work. Since the ground is paper files, it is a work that makes it difficult to remove dust and dirt. (An acrylic case or frame is required for long-term displays)
This is a view from the viewpoint of fallen camellia seeds. Those types are also attached to the work. Just like drawing with chalk on a blackboard, I'm drawing on black sandpaper with those seeds. Small beings have turned their bodies to dust and paint the world around them in their own colors and from their own point of view. That point of view and that moment of the surroundings are unique. Shells that have finished their role in protecting the species seem worthless. But that value standard is only for use. The value standards humans think of in the natural world are only trivial. We are part of nature, but we tend to forget that.
Draw with camellia seeds on sandpaper: Capture the landscape from the seed's point of view.
Based on that photograph, I draw a landscape with those seeds on black sandpaper. Similar to writing with chalk on a blackboard, it is drawn using scraped seeds and being able to write black sandpaper lines.
Pictured location: Kameyama City, Mie Prefecture/ Production Location: Atelier and Yasuda Residence on the Honjima island of Kagawa Prefecture (Setouchi Triennale venue)
All things and things shape the present. In that moment, we never met again. Moments ahead of the present is the future, and everything in the present shapes the future ahead. No entity can spill out of it.

Choose the production method that best suits the subject of the work. Therefore, the drawing materials used are different for each series of works. It is not a common art material, and there are also works drawn with surprising materials, such as drawing with stones or branches on sandpaper or drawing with a matchstick. Through my work, I would like to create works that add new ways of understanding and discoveries to everyday life.
