Concept and Intention of the Artwork

What is mourning? Why flowers?

I went to the graveyard every day and recorded the flowers and the people who were given them. I usually only recognize it as a flower, and I felt that person's life and personality.

As if it were someone's hometown in an unknown land, when a simple flower is handed to a tomb, feelings are placed on it, and it goes beyond being a plant, and it becomes a flower with weight in a conceptual sense.

I think the desire that the life of the soul will continue even now by continuing to offer flowers with a beautiful, living appearance, even though the body will disappear and decay may be the reason why people choose flowers and offer them.

The smell of flowers that continue even when they decay told me right next to me.

The fallen petals that have been handed to graves are collected, the name, birth year, and year of death of each deceased person are described, tidy up like graves, and arranged on the floor. Potpourri for each graveyard were created with those petals, and they dared to display them in a place away from the mortar. The series has continued ceremoniously since 2019. Its appearance is constantly changing.
