Material: fire extinguishers (gas discharged), stainless steel stage, panels, support feet

Six fire extinguishers are arranged in a circle, with their nozzles blocking one another. They symbolize the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) as it exists today. Each extinguisher represents one of the five permanent members and one non-permanent member. As the “world’s fire extinguisher,” the United Nations is expected to prevent conflicts and contain crises. Yet amid the current international situation, its function is rendered ineffective by the competing interests and entanglements among its member states.

The work presents the macro-narrative of the Security Council as portrayed by mainstream media, while also corresponding to the micro-perspective of an individual confronting the images and representations of nations. At the same time, it deliberately refrains from entering into the complexities of political issues, avoiding any direct interpretation of conflicts of interest between states.
