Tadahiro Hasegawa

artist
I make places where anyone can express themselves and become an artist.
Born in 1980, based in Hiroshima. Hasegawa makes participatory installations in which visitors assemble slit wooden pieces, cut from Hiroshima-grown timber and from A-bombed trees, with their own hands. His principal work, Re:Arch Hiroshima, began on a riverside in Hiroshima in 2025. In 2026 it was held twice in the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park with around 500 participants, and on 6 August, Hiroshima Peace Memorial Day, on the pedestrianised Aioi-dori. He also facilitates dialogue-based art appreciation.
