I am recording on a daily basis using a phenomenon called color hearing synesthesia, where I can see colors accompanied by the sound I hear myself.

It's been a little over 3 years since I first came to Yamagata, and I recorded the sounds and colors I heard in various places,

Letters were created by accumulating sounds between things having a common color.

The sounds in the memory become the characters in the story.

“Since I was a child, I have had a strong sense of distrust of the words and characters I use in this way now.

The frustration of not being able to convey what you want to convey to others as it is,

I feel that the cause is that I have a background of multiple cross-cultural experiences, including my own color-hearing synesthesia, in the characters and the images that compose them.

From this feeling, I created characters that are visually composed only of color, which can create a new form of communication.

The characters in this work are composed of pink and light blue.

It was created by accumulating and recording colors that can be seen when a sound interferes with oneself at the position furthest away from oneself, and extracting common colors.

This character is the first character that breaks out of individual senses and creates a form that will remain as a communication tool in the future by being shared.”
