Work Details

〈Lies become stories even after time has passed〉

Arizuka Yui makes daily records using color-hearing synesthesia, which sees colors in her own sounds.

By visualizing sensory communication that cannot be expressed in words, I am working on “why can humans continue to be human” and work with myself.

“In this film, in addition to coming out with my family's habit of lying, I also talked about 'where are lies and stories separated, and where does the difference in disgust come from, 'and did interviews about this theme.

My family has been given a device that emits colored sand when you make a voice similar to my color-hearing synesthesia, and sand has accumulated through interviews.

In humans, communication changes representation and place, and representation and place shape the outline of communication.”

Born in Hirosaki, Aomori.
Focusing on interest in the form of communication beyond unspeakable things, they carry out creative activities using methods that involve viewers, such as performances, installations, and workshops. It unravels systems such as language and human relationships that function as a matter of course in society, and explores ways of communication based on “sensation and memory” before they are uttered and connected as relationships.
