SUGITA Yasura

Based in Toyama, I create artworks centered on shape and color.

Starting from geometric forms as fundamental elements of visual expression, I work across both three-dimensional and two-dimensional media. I am interested in the process through which forms are generated and in the structures underlying them.
In my sculptural works, I explore transformations of form that emerge between manipulation and perception through toy-like interaction.
In my two-dimensional works, I pursue rhythms in motif arrangement and clarity in color composition that can be intuitively appreciated.
