The same thing happened with my very first carnation series in 2024.
Just like then, I couldn’t bring this year’s carnations to a single conclusion.
Somehow, this flower always seems to ask for two voices instead of one.

In 2024, the series became:
𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘶𝘮𝘴 𝟢𝟣 (𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟦)
𝘊𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘩𝘳𝘺𝘴𝘢𝘯𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮𝘶𝘮𝘴 𝟢𝟤 (𝟤𝟢𝟤𝟦)
If you’re curious, you can find them on my portfolio website. (Link in bio.)

For the 2026 series, alongside the version dominated by vivid pinks, another version emerged—this time with golden-yellow carnations.
Although they share the same composition and elements, they leave very different impressions.

When I placed 𝟬𝟭 and 𝟬𝟮 on a wall, the contrast became even more apparent.
One stands out as a bold visual presence.
The other invites you to step closer and discover its details.

I create my work with a contemporary sensibility and a gently poetic visual language. Using photographs and photo collages taken with a digital camera as esquisses, I shape and refine each piece on the computer. Throughout my practice, I return to the theme of “the breath of flowers,” exploring quiet moments and subtle tension through color and composition. My work is presented both online and in physical exhibitions. Graduated from Musashino Art University, Faculty of Art and Design Start artist activities in 2024 __________ “I capture a moment before it fully resolves — When form, space, and breath are still in tension.” __________ Narasaki Emi/EMMI NARASAKI visual artist Based in Japan Emi Narasaki/EMMI NARASAKI is a visual artist based in Japan. She creates works on the themes of the relationship between flowers and colors, and the tension in serenity. It features a unique method for constructing images with layers divided for each color using photographs and digital processes. His works have been presented at international group exhibitions, starting in Tokyo. __________ Artist Statement I capture scenes in which flowers appear as characters. Each flower is part of the cast. I consider where to focus, and what moment to hold. The texture of a petal. The fine hair along a stem. A faint stain that appears over time. And then I decide what kind of dress the flower will wear.
