Work Details
知らない土地をあるき、写真を撮ることは、わたし自身とそとの世界との境界に触れるための重要な側面を担っています。ごく個人的な理由を話せば、ここからすべての制作はスタートしていると言ってもいい。このシリーズは、台湾・高雄市でのアートフェア参加の際に写真を撮ったのが始まりです。わたしはここに3日間滞在し、この熱帯地方の人々のカラフルな生活や営みに出会いました。

It has the important aspect for me to walk and take photos in order to “touch the boundary” between inner myself and the outer world. My work starts from this point primitively, speaking of very personal reasons. This series started from taking photos in Kaohsiung city in Taiwan, when I visited there on an occasion of attending the art fair. I stayed there for three days, and encountered the colourful life and activity in this tropical region.

境界をあるく美術家
わたしは「風景から色を抽出する」という一点にだけフォーカスした、極限まで抽象化された「風景画」を描きます。それは、ITの発達した現代社会における風景の見方に対する問題提起であり、リアルとアブストラクト・アナログとデジタルの境界線を行き来しながら、誰でも簡単に記録・閲覧することができるようになった「風景」の本質に気づくきっかけとしての作品を目指します。
I paint extremely abstracted ‘landscape painting', focusing only on the single point of ‘extracting colour from the landscape’. This is a work that raises questions about the way we view landscapes in today's IT-enabled society, and aims to provide an opportunity to realise the essence of ‘landscapes’, which can now be easily recorded and viewed by anyone, while moving between the boundaries of real and abstract, analogue and digital.

人と人、人と場所、場所と記憶。わたしの作品は、厳密に言うなれば、その接点そのものでしかありません。こちらとあちらを繋ぎ、観賞者にあちらを“理解”しようと一歩を踏み出させる、そんな使命をもったトリガーとなる作品をつくりつづけたい。ご支援よろしくお願いいたします。
Strictly speaking, my artwork is just the single point of contact between people and people, people and places, places and memories. I want to continue creating artworks that would serve as a trigger with a mission to connect us with each other, and to make viewers take a step forward to "understanding" it.
