Work Details

The light from the window falls along with the sound of something coming

The term animism is deeply rooted in Japan.

People think that things have a soul, and they consciously feel that they are living together.

When I asked the gardener to remove a large stone in the garden the other day,

“Is it OK to move this? Can't I be cursed by this stone?” He asked me seriously.

I feel that feeling is so beautiful.

When you feel that something is alive, the way you look at it changes.

If everyone had this feeling

Isn't the world going to turn better?

When I looked outside from the Engawa, I was overwhelmed by the light

A lot of things come into view.

Am I crazy?

Or Just do I want to believe it...?

Concept and production intention of the work

I wanted to paint the beauty of being able to see what you can't see

Detailed explanation

Only the feet are floating. This means zashiki child. It's the guardian deity of the house

The birds

A bird that can fly at any time means the future.

The dog is flying while sleeping

This dog, which is on the border between reality and unreality, will soon fly away

Thoughts put into the work and title

It's a work where you can feel the sound and feel the wind. even if you're not here

Production method

Draw with charcoal and carefully examine the direction of the color once digitally.

Charcoal is used because it produces the color closest to natural. Also, I feel that the roughness of charcoal paper is suitable for expressing changing light

The time it took to produce

50 hours

About the production location (atelier)

Produced in a Japanese atelier

Painting artist

Graduated from Musashino Art University, Department of Oil Painting, Tokyo.

After working as a game character designer for several years,
She heads to France where she studies art for three years.
In France, she began drawing creatures that appeared in his dreams.

Those creatures she would also be influenced by in her game creation
These become some of the themes she still explores today.
She moved to Tokyo, New Zealand, and France, where she continued to pursue art as she felt.

Why do people create things that cannot be seen?
why do you feel the soul

When she think about it, her hand moves and it becomes something's soul.

She is currently creating works based on her "animism" at her atelier in Kamakura Japan.
