Fusuma Art: Zaimokuza Beach

Couldn't that color, which turned brown, be used as a symbol of the flow of time?

This work is painted in white while retaining the brown color of the ground.

People say that the sandy beach in Zaimokuza（Japanese beach), which is the motif, used to be larger.

In the summer during the period of rapid growth, the sandy beach is filled with umbrellas, and it is laughed about as if washing potatoes.

But now, the sand has been scraped over a long period of time, and the sea is much closer. There aren't that many people.

I thought about drawing those years along with fusuma.

The base expression of the sandy beach is drawn by layering waves crashing repeatedly in white while retaining the brown color of the fusuma.

Then, when I draw the waves in white, I get the feeling that I myself have become waves and go over a sandy beach.

From Hase to Inamuragasaki, which spreads out in the back, they intentionally used “gold” and “brown” paint, which is very similar to the brown color of the ground, to express a cityscape that will continue to change with people in the future.

Beyond the bustle, what you can feel at Zaimokuza Beach now is a relaxing time and the scent of the ocean.

I would be happy if you could both feel that the “brown color of fusuma” drawn by time is beautiful.
