「PixCell」とは、Pixel（画素）とCell（細胞、粒、器）を表す、名和による造語です。大小の透明な球体で隙間なく覆われ、直接触れることのできない鹿の剥製の表面は、拡大され歪曲した画像として一粒一粒に閉じ込められ、見ているうちに動く映像のようにも感じられます。物質が画像や映像＝情報の集合体へと変換されたこの作品は、まるで常にスマートフォンやパソコンなどを通してものを見ている私たちの状況を表しているかのようでもあります。
