この彫刻は、今この時は多くの記憶でできていることを表します。私たちは手続き的記憶、意味形成 記憶、エピソード記憶の3種類の思い出を持っています。そして、地中のエピソード記憶の上で生き ているのです。エピソード記憶は人間の脳のさまざまな部分に記録されるので、他の記憶をはっきり と思い出すことができるのに、エピソードの一部の記憶を思い出せないことがあります。これは、地 面が地層を生成する方法に似ています。私たちは足の下に重なる地層にどの記憶が眠っているかを思 い出そうとします。

I create and present works on the theme of “Memories of the Land.” The “work that lifts the ground,” which is the main work, encourages people to think again about memories and events that lie dormant in that place by superimposing memories of that place on the strata accumulated there and showing those things that cannot normally be seen. When creating a work, I value local interviews and sort out my memories of that place by listening to various stories.
