Work Details
When the night deepens and the boundary between light and dark becomes blurred.
There are times when I feel that the land we live in is quietly filled with invisible signs and powers.
It is not a god or a beast, and the time, memories, and climate itself accumulated on that land may have appeared by borrowing a form that can only be recognized for a moment.
The tiger in this work does not depict a tiger as an animal. It depicts energy and signs that dwell in the land as beings appearing clothed in “shapes” that people can recognize.
Since ancient times, people have given names to such unknown things and passed down stories as divine beasts and spiritual beasts. However, its appearance varied from time to time and place, and I think it did not have a fixed shape originally.
This work depicts a moment when a sign of a nameless land unexpectedly appeared by borrowing the symbolic form of a tiger.

Artist
Kemono Painter (kemono graphy)
There are mysterious powers in nature. They seem to be visible and invisible, and their existence is unstable, and I feel them and visualize them through my work
I'm trying it out.
The theme of my work is the world of nature, mythology, and the invisible senses.
Patterns and colors that emerge when looking at living things from a unique viewpoint — these are named “kemonography (chemography)” and recorded.
Produced at the atelier and gallery “Kemono” in Senmaya, Iwate Prefecture.
Through exhibitions and exhibiting at events, I depict the harmony between fantasy and reality.
