Work Details
Even though the sky is always right in front of me, I almost never remember exactly what it looks like.
The color, light, and movement of clouds change moment by moment, and the moment our consciousness captures them, they are already shifting to a different expression.
In the “Memories of the Sky” series, the “experience of seeing the sky” itself is reconstructed as a painting without the aim of reproducing a specific landscape or time.
The overlapping colors and fluctuations in brushstrokes that appear on the screen are closer to fragments of the sky seen in the past and afterimages of the emotions that occurred at that time rather than the actual sky.
What is depicted here is not the sky as a record, but an image of the sky that has changed, mixed, and become ambiguous in memory.
Red and orange function as heat and signs, and blue and dark colors function as deepening time and serenity, and the entire screen forms one sensory layer.
This series is an attempt to move back and forth between personal memories and universal senses through the sky.
It is intended to be an opportunity for viewers to recall the sky within themselves that they have seen at some point, and feelings that have no name.

Artist
Kemono Painter (kemono graphy)
There are mysterious powers in nature. They seem to be visible and invisible, and their existence is unstable, and I feel them and visualize them through my work
I'm trying it out.
The theme of my work is the world of nature, mythology, and the invisible senses.
Patterns and colors that emerge when looking at living things from a unique viewpoint — these are named “kemonography (chemography)” and recorded.
Produced at the atelier and gallery “Kemono” in Senmaya, Iwate Prefecture.
Through exhibitions and exhibiting at events, I depict the harmony between fantasy and reality.
