Work Details
Shirasawa is a divine beast that has been handed down since ancient times.
Many images have been depicted, but mythology and folklore are by no means just one form.
This work is another form that I have reconstructed through my own senses, starting from the existence of Shirasawa.
Many eyes continue to quietly stare at the signs lurking in the world and the signs that are still unspeakable. It is not for gathering knowledge, but it may be an eye for existing on the border with a world not reflected in the eye.
I don't want to recreate a myth. I would like to make new lives and stories appear in the present day while borrowing a vessel called folklore.
“White Heroine” is another entity derived from Shirasawa, and it is a form of a divine beast living in another world. It is a work created as a new story of mythical beasts, emerging from the boundary between reality and fantasy.

Artist
Kemono Painter (kemono graphy)
There are mysterious powers in nature. They seem to be visible and invisible, and their existence is unstable, and I feel them and visualize them through my work
I'm trying it out.
The theme of my work is the world of nature, mythology, and the invisible senses.
Patterns and colors that emerge when looking at living things from a unique viewpoint — these are named “kemonography (chemography)” and recorded.
Produced at the atelier and gallery “Kemono” in Senmaya, Iwate Prefecture.
Through exhibitions and exhibiting at events, I depict the harmony between fantasy and reality.
