MOTAS.はBOYAとTOMOによるアートユニットです。異なるジャンルのアート活動をしていた2人が、それぞれが影響を受けてきた様々なスタイルを取り入れて2012年より共同で作品制作を開始しました。本展にも登場するキャラクター「BLEYE（ブライ）」はMOTAS.結成後に創り上げたオリジナルであり、MOTAS.として注目を浴びるきっかけとなる重要な役割も果たしています。
キャンバス作品に注力するようになった2020年頃から現在に至るまでも、常に新しい表現方法を模索・発表し続けています。ユニットである二人がそれぞれ構図と色彩感覚を通して行なう独自の対話から生み出す作品は、不思議な温かさと共に人々の普遍的な感情をキャンバスに落とし込んでいるようです。
