Work Details
From around 2010 to 2018, I mainly created fantasy paintings rooted in the admiration for the West that I had carried since childhood.
I was drawn to the appearance of Western figures, landscapes far removed from my everyday life, and the sense of mystery I found in religion. At times, I built series inspired by Greek mythology, and at others, by the world of tarot cards.
However, through holding solo exhibitions abroad between 2015 and 2019 and spending an extended period of time in the UK, Western culture gradually shifted in my mind from something “extraordinary” into something more “ordinary.”
At the same time, I came to realize more strongly that my own roots in Japanese culture could appear deeply mysterious and distinctive when seen from a global perspective.
Around 2020, I began to center my practice on Japanese culture, especially the aesthetics and motifs related to pre-Taisho kimono culture.
Since 2025, I have been continuing a series of paintings connected by a single line of thought.
Echoes of Spring is the first work in that cherry blossom series.
As I continue creating with the hope of exhibiting in overseas luxury hotels, automobile showrooms, and Japanese restaurants, I have repeatedly felt how often cherry blossoms are sought after as a theme.
At the same time, the boundaries between Japan’s four seasons seem to grow more blurred each year, and spring itself feels increasingly short.
Perhaps one day, even “a spring in which cherry blossoms bloom” may become something almost unreal.
With that feeling in mind, I present Echoes of Spring as my own vision of beauty at this moment.

Painter/Muralist
Painter and mural artist known for precise hand-painted realism created with acrylics. Her work combines the human figure with ornamental motifs such as flowers, butterflies, and symbolic elements inspired by Japanese culture, exploring themes of emotion, memory, and the fragility of belief.
She began her artistic career with a solo exhibition in New York in 2010. From 2015 she expanded her activities internationally, living and working in the United Kingdom until 2017 while presenting solo exhibitions in New York, Los Angeles, London, and Amsterdam.
Since 2019 she has also focused on mural projects. In Bangkok she initiated the SDGs-inspired art project “Art Can Help You,” which gathered 1,500 participants over three days at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC).
She currently explores the concept of “creating atmosphere through art,” focusing on how painting can shape and transform space.
