Work Details
This work is inspired by the aria “Un bel dì, vedremo” from Act II of Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly. The figure depicted is Butterfly seen from behind, gazing toward the horizon as she patiently awaits “that day.” Nothing happens; the days pass without change. Yet this stillness itself forms the central theme of the work. In this moment, Butterfly exists neither fully within a dream nor entirely within reality. The act of believing has become part of her daily existence, quietly accumulating with the passage of time. The composition, reduced to its essential elements, expresses a state in which hope persists in its most silent form. One Fine Day depicts the final moment before the narrative begins to collapse — a time when belief still retains its shape.
My works are primarily created using acrylic paint on canvas or panel. I build the image through multiple layers of color, gradually constructing depth, luminosity, and decorative richness.
