Blessed Flowers

This work is inspired by Act II of Puccini’s opera Madama Butterfly, particularly the scene known as the “Flower Duet,” where Butterfly fills the house with flowers while believing in Pinkerton’s return. The blessing depicted here is not something granted from outside. Instead, the act of waiting itself becomes a ritual, and the space gradually fills with flowers as an expression of unwavering belief. Her face is partially concealed by a bouquet of flowers; this concealment does not signify denial but rather a moment of suspension. It reflects the state of standing with faith alone before an uncertain future. Following Butterfly Apparition, this work represents the moment when hope quietly begins to revolve from within.

My works are primarily created using acrylic paint on canvas or panel. I build the image through multiple layers of color, gradually constructing depth, luminosity, and decorative richness.
