Work Details
石を彫るほどに「彫られた空間」は増していく。その石を彫って失われた体積を、真鍮を打って膨らんだ体積に置き換える。石は不可逆性の象徴であり、真鍮は失われることにより発生した体積を可視化するための媒体とする。真鍮の表と裏を物質の外側と内部に置き換えて、意識されていない空間を可視化する。
1㎜厚の薄い真鍮は、槌(ハンマー)によってかけられた力を克明に映し出す。力に抗えず空いた穴は、まるで地続きの外側に開いた風穴のようだ。外側と内側をつなぐ穴。
表と裏、外側と内側、二項対立に風穴が開く。
