Work Details
There are times when I feel a definite sign of a “beginning” in the stillness.
I drew this work by imagining an existence like such a primordial light.
The figure of an elephant symbolizes memory, the earth, and the cycle of life.
The light and color that overflows from that body is like “breathing” that goes back and forth between past and future, consciousness and unconsciousness.
I use the term “kemonography (chemography)” to record my own way of looking at the world.
Drawing living things is not just about capturing shapes; it is also an act of visualizing the “sound” deep within existence.
This work “Light Source” is a form of prayer to sense that fundamental energy.

Artist
Kemono Painter (kemono graphy)
There are mysterious powers in nature. They seem to be visible and invisible, and their existence is unstable, and I feel them and visualize them through my work
I'm trying it out.
The theme of my work is the world of nature, mythology, and the invisible senses.
Patterns and colors that emerge when looking at living things from a unique viewpoint — these are named “kemonography (chemography)” and recorded.
Produced at the atelier and gallery “Kemono” in Senmaya, Iwate Prefecture.
Through exhibitions and exhibiting at events, I depict the harmony between fantasy and reality.
