Work Details
Concept and production intention of the work
Concept
“It’s been a while since bar code has spread over our life. But “What is bar code? Who is it?” It might be an envoy sent by an alien who wants to dominate over the Earth. Or it could be some code made by some confidential organization (like CIA or something) to brainwash the people. The ‘Bar code’ must be scheming something at this time. All of you, please be careful enough when you use the bar code!”
Bar code part represents something artificial and men themselves, multi colour stripe parts represent the world around us.
If you see the detail of the colour part, mismatched colours like normally people won’t combine together are located next to each other. This world is filled with a wide variety of people and miscellaneous things, at first glance, it looks chaotic but when you see it from far away, you’ll find out unexpected harmonies.
The world surround us also seems to be chaotic, but in fact, there are some kind of balance and harmony. If you see the world from a distance, you can find new beauty and harmony. Like this, I represent the relation of the world surrounding us and ordinally life of people by my artworks.
When creating her work, she first selects a single photograph to begin with. She picks up colors from the photo and wraps embroidery threads around an acrylic board. Therefore, the color combinations in her works are not consciously chosen, but rather emerge randomly.
One reason why people often say her works feel light and unoppressive despite the large number of colors may be because she minimizes the involvement of human intention and reflects the colors of the world as they are. Additionally, the use of embroidery thread adds a unique warmth to the texture.

Thoughts put into the work and title
I create colorful, striped artworks by wrapping embroidery threads around acrylic boards and rods. The color combinations reflect the world around us, and upon closer look, you may find colors placed next to each other that are rarely used together.
Our world is full of diverse people and things. At first glance, it may seem chaotic, but when viewed from a distance, unexpected harmony can be discovered.
Through my art, I aim to express the relationship between the world we live in and the everyday lives of people.
My work seeks to express the unexpected beauty that emerges from the harmony of different elements. By capturing the subtle beauty hidden in daily life and conveying it through my art, I hope to help people gain a deeper understanding of the world and make their lives feel a little lighter.
