Work Details
First, anonymous traces left on the street, such as graffiti on walls and traces of paint that are about to disappear, are recorded in photographs.
They are fragments of conscious expression and unconscious action, and they are like poems stored in a city. A poem engraved in a city that belongs to everyone and does not belong to anyone. I cut out fragments of this photo and accumulated my own memories and feelings
Combine it with fragments of drawings, which can also be called. This process is also a poetic act of collecting countless words scattered throughout the city and reorganizing them in a new context. The ladder in the title is a symbolic image of connecting different spaces, and it is used as a word to describe the act of connecting between individuals and others, and opposing things called past and present in the work. I aim to capture the moment when the boundaries of opposing elements merge by putting up ladders, and create new stories and feelings. Also, the multi-layered nature of cities is described as resistance to “clean cities” that are being homogenized
It is questioning our own existence as subjects who rediscover memories and reread cities.
