■Explanation of works by artists
“The Great Transformation” is a work presented at the solo exhibition “Things That Cycle While Changing” held in December 2020. In this game, characters such as cats, weasels, and frogs that are said to “not fit into the Chinese zodiac” will appear. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the flow of everyday life that had been taken for granted until then fluctuated greatly around the world, and I drew this work as an entity that symbolizes signs of change based on a premonition that changes will also come to the world cycle that the zodiac has symbolized. This work has been exhibited twice so far, but both are in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was difficult for many people to actually see it. In this exhibition, I thought it would be like an entrance for people to think back on those days through this work again, and think about what kind of influence it was born from there, and how it affects modern society and viewers, so I decided to re-exhibit it.
