Work Details
島のあちこちに設置された10個の「飾音」は風が吹くと鳴る作品です。その昔、猿島には春日神社がありました。昔の人々が猿島を神聖な場所として捉えていたのであれば、どのような飾りを作って崇めえたかを想像し、架空の置物として制作されています。古来より神聖で丈夫な植物として扱われてきた竹で構成されており、上部に植えられた竹の枝は全て「猿」の形をしています。目をよく凝らすと、さまざまな佇まいの猿が浮かび上がってきます。
この作品は第一回目の「Sense Island -感覚の島- 暗闇の美術島 2019」から展示されており、サイズが最も大きな作品は今年度のワークショップに参加した学生たちと制作されました。

One of Goto’s representative work, “toki- ” has been showcased at both domestic and international events such as Ars Electronica and SXSW Art Program.
