Layers of Color 1502
Layers of Color series = non-figurative, spontaneous, phenomenal
Since the “Layers of Color” series, which began in 2015, I have been pursuing paintings that are pure visual phenomena, freed from the structure of figurative motifs.
This is the second work in the same series, and features a simple layer structure.
From where there is no clear theme, message, motif, or plan, every time one painting or scraping process is completed, the next process is judged, and eventually a screen that seems to be completed (including orientation) is determined.
The front and back sides of the panel are covered, and acrylic paint is applied directly to the screen, and acrylic paint is applied directly to the screen, but after undercoating and preparation with scrapers to crush the wood grain, paint is applied as an illustration of parts, solids, etc. The number of times to be repeated is also not predetermined, so each work is on a case-by-case basis.
Once you feel that the layers of paint are over, it's time for the scraping process. While pouring water on the screen, we will find the finished screen while grinding with water-resistant sandpaper.
The side of the screen has a black finish, and the slit on the back side is a duct that also serves as ventilation within the panel, but pins and hooks can also be hooked during installation. Since the screen has been scraped out, it is smooth and can be wiped clean with a dish towel or the like.
To make the most of “multi-layered magic,” one of the characteristics of painting. From the time I set out to create, I found a method in line with my desires in 1999.
Since then, we have been pursuing the possibilities of painting with a consistent technique called “laminating and grinding acrylic paint” with matières.

Painting as a phenomenon.
We are exploring the possibilities of painting using a method of generating a screen by laminating and grinding acrylic paint.
There are variations in screen styles, from those with objects to those without objects, and all works have common colors and mattieres.
