「人が死ぬと魂の重さは21グラムになるとされており、これは米1,068粒分、またはコンドーム8個分に相当する」
本作は、先進国の社会で重要な役割を果たしている資源を、魂の重さとされる21グラム（Duncan MacDougallの実験による「three-quarters of an ounce」）に調整し、パッケージ化した作品である
しかし、その重要性とは対照的に、Duncan MacDougallが犬を用いた実験は倫理的に問題視されていた。同様に、本作で扱う資源も、多く所有し流通させた人物が、あたかも全能であるかのように振る舞う点に着目し、時代ごとに選定を行った
いま私たちにとって本当に大事な資源とは何か？
2024年、戦争や買い占めの影響により、日本では米やガソリンの価格が高騰している。いつの時代も大衆は全能に振り回されるばかりだ
この問題を起こしている者の魂もまた21グラムである

Born in Kanagawa, based in Tokyo.
Yudai Nakaya's practice begins with a sense of dissonance felt in the face of a single event. He re-describes that event from multiple perspectives—human, society, animal, plant, time, machine—and turns the gaps that emerge between these descriptions into works.
Each project is numbered as a "Case": one Case is a body of multiple descriptions surrounding one event. A Case is never complete; descriptions from new perspectives are added over time. As long as there are events in the world, the Cases will continue to grow.
