Work Details
This work was developed as a device for viewing the overwhelming Northern Alps of Shinano-Omachi from the top of Takagariyama Mountain. The physical experience of free movement in all directions allows viewers to be disconnected from conventional scenery, placing them in physically coordinated space. Moving over or under the beams and ceilings of a house, and progressing though an unstable white space, it is as though gravity is taking part in the construction of the view of Shinano-Omachi.

The art team participated in exhibitions including the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale 2018, Niigata (2018), Roppongi Crossing 2019 at Mori Art Museum, Tokyo (2019), and Hawai’i Triennial 2022, Hawaii, USA (2022), among others. Their work masayume has been shown in exhibitions such as Engawa - A Season of Contemporary Art from Japan, Lisbon, Portugal (2023), Veranos de la Villa 2024, Madrid (2024), among others. Directors of Saitama Triennale 2023. As an individual artist, Haruka Kojin has presented works in exhibitions including When Life Becomes Form at São Paulo Museum of Modern Art, São Paulo, Brazil (2008), Bye Bye Kitty!!!: Between Heaven and Hell in Contemporary Japanese Art at Japan Society, New York, USA (2011), Japanorama - New vision on art since 1970 at Centre Pompidou-Metz, Metz, France (2017-2018).
