東京の人口は、今もなお増え続けています。都心にたくさんの人が集まってゆくにつれて、一人の居場所が重視されるようになりました。けれど、たとえ一人になる場所にいたとしても、その人の内側には、自分ではない誰かが出入りするスペースがあるのではないでしょうか。
この作品は、動物の共生をモチーフに、ある生き物の内側で、別の生物が住んでいる様子を表現しています。
東京の中心という展示場所を舞台に、ひとりひとりが自分のスペースを持ちながらも、孤立しているのでなく、内側には誰かを受け入れる場所があり、互いを尊重して暮らしている、という生き物の営みを描きます。
