Work Details

[Work created in 2023 under the 1928 project “Sustainable x Art” project operated by OOKABE GLASS Co., Ltd.]

As part of a project with the theme of “sustainable,” they provided double glass (dead stock glass) that cannot be recycled, and flower trash discarded at flower shops was collected and used as a material.

It is a work that focuses on how to shine again by shining light on discarded objects in an age where things have become convenient and new things are born one after another.

Separate plant shapes are applied to the front and back with silver foil.

Using the gap (about 1 cm) between the two sheets of glass, which is characteristic of double glazing, the layers of the pattern are created so that you can feel more depth.

By allowing outdoor or indoor light to pass through, the silver leaf shines, and sometimes creates a dark silhouette.

Please enjoy the work that changes facial expressions at that moment, such as the time to watch and the weather.

・Produced in 2023

・Glass, silver leaf, picture frame (wood is made of kihada, dyed black with iron mordant)

he sheer rock walls, the endless calm sea, the dazzling glow after the rain, and the bottomless black sea in the middle of the night.
The “joy and fear of life and death” that I actually experienced in such natural surroundings is the driving force behind my work.
Using the expression of Japanese-style painting, I work daily with the wind to express the irregular surprise like the wind and the indeterminate appearance like water.
