「Reborn-Art Festival

Tadashi Kawamata is an artist who has been internationally active since his participation in the Venice Biennale in 1982. At the former Kankeimaru Shoten, he exhibits the construction process for Ishinomaki Tower, which is to be exhibited at a vacant lot adjacent to Minamihama Marina, along with the models for Project Nove de julho Caçapava, Kawamata’s early work presented at the Bienal de São Paulo in Brazil in 1987 that attracted worldwide attention.

“I will assemble a wooden tower for Reborn-Art Festival this year, and present its sketches and models. My artwork from the collection of Ishinomaki City Museum, which was damaged by the tsunami and restored, will also be exhibited.” (Tadashi Kawamata)
