足りない箇所を補い、相互に作用することで人は営んでいる。
人が個人を個人として認識する瞬間には必ず他者からの認識が存在している。
円は「循環」であり「一個人」であり「社会」であり「繋がり」である。
この作品は太陰太極図をモチーフに「陰」と「陽」とがバランスをとり、それが交わる部分を「中庸」として、社会という枠組みの中で「縁」の循環を表している。
個人と他者により形作られる社会が互いに作用することで人が営み、繋がっていく。

MANABU KISHIMOTO seeks to depict the very essence of human “existence” by scraping away layers of paint.
His work applies the traditional Japanese technique of “grinding out,” using water to grind away layers of acrylic paint applied over and over. This reveals traces of complexly overlapping colors beneath the scraped surface.
Through this act of “scraping,” he attempts to strip away boundaries drawn by society and attributes imposed later, revealing the pure essence of human existence—the simple fact of being.
