Concept and production intention of the work
Machiyama Kotaro's abstract paintings create a quiet and powerful dialogue with the viewer.
Inspired by a flat vision without meaning or depth, like a baby looking at the world, a screen composed only of colors and shapes naturally evokes individual memories, emotions, and imagination.
The work combines a post-color field exploration of color with a unique approach to the structure of perception, making the viewer experience “a world without a name yet.”
What is “Kirinuki Series - Tsutawaru”?
Produced by cutting out part of the “main series.” We are constantly receiving information that has been cut out, and it is expressed that the way we see it completely changes depending on how it is cut.
