Concept and production intention of the work
Machiyama Kotaro's abstract paintings create a quiet and powerful dialogue with the viewer.
Inspired by a flat vision without meaning or depth, like a baby looking at the world, a screen composed only of colors and shapes naturally evokes individual memories, emotions, and imagination.
The work combines a post-color field exploration of color with a unique approach to the structure of perception, and allows viewers to experience “a world without a name yet.”
