Concept and Intention of the Artwork

The miracle of change and continuity within the flow of time.

The ephemerality of all things born, only to eventually dissolve into the current.

In each fleeting instant lies a world of possibilities, endlessly unfolding.

An existence that flows onward, transcending form, transcending freedom. We, as possibility.

Production Methods

This is a mathematical art piece that runs on the GLSL editor "https://twigl.app/". This work is created with 280 characters, and the code used is embedded within the piece itself. Fractal structures are commonly seen in shells, forests, coastlines, insect patterns, and more, and are also known as the golden ratio, among other things. Many of them can be expressed mathematically, and here, the galaxy structure is represented using a technique called ray marching (a method that detects objects for each pixel on the computer as light travels, rendering complex shapes and fractals). Additionally, the reason for making the code extremely short is to explore the simulation hypothesis. We believe that the world we perceive exists within programming, and that landscapes and patterns may exhibit characteristics seen in programming (such as shells, galaxies, etc.). For this reason, it's important to see if such a world can be described with as shortened code as possible (rather than executing it with redundant and rich programming), which is why a short-code environment has been adopted.
