Work Details
Inspired by Egyptian wall paintings,
this work explores the theme of rebirth through a symbolic tale:
a dog raises a human child, who gradually transforms into a dog and ultimately returns to a coffin.
The idea questions the human-animal relationship—what if the roles were reversed?
If animals became our caretakers, how would that reshape our understanding of life and nurture?
Created using a mixed technique of tempera and oil painting,
the piece features mineral pigments and iwa-enogu, producing rich textures and deep colors.
Ancient hieroglyphs and symbols scattered in the background evoke a sense of eternity.
The carved surface, made with a palette knife, brings a mural-like presence—
a gesture symbolizing the engraving of life and the transmission of memory through time.
