Work Details
We use a method of printing a photograph, reconstructing what has been cut out, and then presenting it as a painting. The boundary between reality and imaginary images has become blurred, and in the modern age where visual information is overflowing, we search for how to acquire a sense of reality by drawing, and paradoxically evoke a sense of reality through painting as fiction.

I am interested in the reality contained in images generated as “fiction,” and I am creating it. Traditional and conventional topics are presented as a collage-like screen with expressions drawn by hand as if an existing photograph had been attached. I'm trying to explore a different kind of realistic existence that appears between “imitating” and “revealing” a painting image.
