Work Details
Most of the landscapes we think of are shaped by things shared through paintings, photographs, tourist images, games, etc., rather than actual locations.
I cut out unrelated fragments, arranged them, and reconstructed them as paintings that look like landscapes by hand painting them all.
In this series, a relief screen is constructed by superimposing cutout images using the shape of a bonsai tree as a motif.

I am interested in the reality contained in images generated as “fiction,” and I am creating it. Traditional and conventional topics are presented as a collage-like screen with expressions drawn by hand as if an existing photograph had been attached. I'm trying to explore a different kind of realistic existence that appears between “imitating” and “revealing” a painting image.
