一定のルールで支持体を絵具で埋め尽くすことを目的としている。描いたものの善し悪しや、それを観せること以前の、描くという行為自体に関心がある。描いたことの痕跡として、ただ作品が存在しているということが重要なのではないかと考えている。

My objective is to follow a set of rules to fill the support with paint. I am interested in the act of painting itself, rather than whether the paining is good or not, or presenting it to others. I feel the fact that the work simply exists, as a trace of having been painted, is what is important.

宮﨑さんの作品は、形に具体的なモチーフはなく、ただルールに沿って画面を隙間なく、絵の具も重ねずに埋め尽くしていく。簡単な形から始まり、徐々にその隙間を埋める塗りへと筆使いが変化すると、その絵の具の在り方もそれに従い決定されていく。何でもない形の集合は、描く瞬間の作家自身の頭と身体の思考のせめぎ合いや、そのリズムや緊張感を心地よく響かせる。彼女は描く行為それ自体の魅力をシンプルな形で伝えている。

In Miyazaki’s work, forms have no specific motifs, but the screen is simply filled with paint without layering, with no gaps, following a set of rules. Beginning with a simple shape, her brushwork slowly transforms to that of filling the gaps, and the paints’ way of being becomes determined accordingly. The collection of meaningless shapes, comfortingly resonate the conflicting consciousness of the artist’s mind and body at the moment of painting, and its rhythm and tension. She portrays the beauty of the action of painting itself in a simple manner.
