Work Details
A mold is a general term for pouring in molten metal used in casting techniques. Mainly gypsum and silica sand are used. Focusing on this mold, we have created the “Earth Mold” series where natural stones with a structure that stores liquid metal are likened to molds, going to mountains and rivers as field work, and casting using metals with low melting points locally. For this work, I made a bronze mold (with the motif of “On a Stone” by Heihachi Hashimoto). I work on the themes of the Earth, gravity, horizontal, vertical, and natural scientific phenomena in the casting process.
