It is the last work I painted for this exhibition. It is based on a work by Gyokudo Uragami.

As a literati, Gyokudo was not a professional painter.

This work is the end point of my journey to dismantle myself using the brush.

I look at the brushstrokes and ponder, "What is ki-in-sei-dō (how artworks are animated with refinement and dignity)?"
