Work Details

This work is a series called “Sound Breathe,” which explores the origin of human language.

“Sound Breathe,” meaning the breath of sound, is based on sound symbolism research, and depicts the moment just before sound becomes language, each of the 50 Japanese sounds such as “a” and “ki.”
By depicting an undifferentiated state just before becoming current words about the shape (sight) and sound impression (hearing) of words and the feeling (physical sensation) when pronouncing words, it became a work where words and sounds themselves look like living things, like when living things were still screaming and talking.
It's like a song created by a butterfly or a small bird before it became a specimen.

There are sounds derived from every work, one by one in this work.
I hope you enjoy it while imagining what this sounds like.
