Work Details
When Hydrangeas Bloom
I couldn't forget the hydrangea swaying in the wind in the sunlight, so I made it into a work of art.
Concept of the work
As I was taking a walk with my camera as usual, the lush hydrangeas were shining in the sunlight. The sparkling leaves seemed to make a light sound as they rustled in the wind. This photo was taken at that time.
Production Method
Gesso is applied to the wooden panel to create a textural effect, and oil paint is applied over the top. The random, uneven surface and the brush marks left in places give the work a sense of warmth in a haphazard way.
EnterI have a home and studio in the south of Kyoto. The Uji River flows in front of my house, and taking a walk along the river is a daily routine. I often get inspiration from nature, so taking a walk is an important part of my daily routine. The sunlight that changes from hour to hour, the veins of leaves, the clouds in the sky... Nature teaches me the essence of what I want to create.

photographer / Artist
After working as a photographer for about 12 years, I began seriously pursuing painting, an interest I'd held since childhood. Several years ago, I moved my studio from Tokyo to Kyoto. Currently, I continue my creative activities from both bases, working as both a photographer and a painter.
