この絵は、「木炭で木炭を描いてみた」作品です。 ’material’はstructureの派生の様な制作です。 structureの発想は、もともと素材であった絵具が、人や物の図像になって絵具というモノとしての見え方で無くなることが重要な構造でした。その裏返しの発想で、具象的に描かれることで素材性より図像性の方が強くなるはずの絵のモチーフが、その絵を描いた素材の姿というあべこべを提示してみている作品です。
