本物みたい」≒「写真みたい」？
この作品は、高橋由一の「豆腐」を引用し、豆腐部分に遠近法を歪ませる加工をしています。現代において、多くの人々にとって写真は現実世界を完璧に再現するものだと考えられていますが、写真の発明以前、西洋では絵画がその役割を担っていました。写真の構造に近い透視図法や線遠近法がルネサンス期に発明され、しかしそれ以前には異なる遠近法や世界の捉え方がありました。
日本では、この西洋画と写真とがほぼ同時期に輸入され、その再現性の高さにきっと衝撃を受けたでしょう。作品では、あえてルネサンス以前の遠近法を豆腐に施し、リアリティについて、目に見えるものを再現する事についての再考をしています。
