What I discovered by questioning myself was a memory of growing up in the mountains and playing around with nature.

And the feeling of walking around in the woods as if pushing out a small map.

There I saw and touched the trees, flowers, and falling junk, and the chirping of birds flying freely in the sky.

Also, on a rainy day, I stayed in my room and read the story in the book.

When I realized that those casual memories were shaping my current creativity, such shapes naturally took shape.

And it seems that the nature of wanting to know the contents of the junk I picked up or the stuff I no longer need has existed since I was a child...

“Disassemble and rebuild” seems to be one of my creative themes.

The gears, large and small, that are actually used in this work use parts from old broken clocks purchased at the junk market that used to be held at Toji Temple in Kyoto.

There are times when the desire to give something new life to something that is considered unnecessary from the human eye works, and I incorporated that feeling directly into the production.

Such disassembly and reconstruction leads to play with words and associations by linking to a favorite habit of reading books.

When thinking deeply about creation, I think people naturally focus on the past rather than the future.

As is the case with all disciplines, etc., wisdom and knowledge accumulated by people who lived in the past are the foundation and stairs, and the activity of further advancing human progress continues from there.

And sometimes, huge intellectual buildings built up in this way sometimes give people who have begun to question their own creativity a great sense of helplessness or emptiness, and by changing the way you look at them, they can also be a castle wall to protect themselves...

Little by little, such associations, like word games, were released from the habit of accumulating time accumulated since childhood, and the cog wheel, which itself is nothing but junk, became a symbol of time.

Books, which are simply symbols of stories that pile up, eventually became part of the building of such knowledge.

Thus, the object in front of me flew around in the sky, and the meaning of words began to flutter like a free bird, taking place and rules of civilization created by humans as if it were a free bird.

Going back to the past, the meanings of every fixed word are broken down, and they begin to flap their wings more freely.

Once they have left the nest, each word connects to something different from before, harbors a new meaning, and sprout.

This adventure, which is like walking through fog while thinking about such creation, is a dream story that is born and then disappears.

Dreams, nothing, nothing...

At some point, mu. took shape as a work with that meaning.
