Small Room of Memories Sailing Ship

A small sailboat made of paper and brass wire that “is full of light and shadow, and the ship continues to drift.”



Its outline covers the daylight, and it quietly appears as if heading somewhere far off to the horizon.

When the light is turned on at night, the warm light softly dyes the walls, and the scenery as if the sunset melts to the surface of the water spreads out in one corner of the room.

Eventually, the sailboat changes its appearance into a shadow and floats quietly in the light.

Each ship shows a different expression as time passes.

Amidst that small round trip, there is a quiet nautical scene.

There was a time when I was drawing pictures and making picture frames.

This work was born from a place where those two experiences quietly overlapped with current three-dimensional modeling.

While being aware of the boundary between flat and three-dimensional, painting and form, I compose scenes within a small frame.

Picture frames are also part of the work made by hand from wood.

The materials are wood, watercolor paper, and brass.
The three-dimensional scene, which looks like a still life, is finished as a one-of-a-kind frame work by hand.

The light is deliberately adjusted to a low level of brightness.

It is not a practical light, but a small light for viewing and creating a space.

You can also enjoy it as a bedside or shelf decor.
