Material: Iron, neon tubes
Antitail is a unit formed in 2025 by Takashi Kunitani, who creates spatial environments using materials such as neon tubes, and doll artist Tomoko Hashimoto.
This piece was created for 《視線と夢》, the first installation by this unique unit. Is the glow of the neon tubing inside a dream? Or is it a bedside light? When turned on, this tabletop object radiates a neon glow.

Antitail is a unit formed in 2025 by Takashi Kunitani, who creates spatial environments using materials such as neon tubes, and doll artist Tomoko Hashimoto.
The unit name “Antitail” is originally refers to a phenomenon in which a comet’s tail—normally extending away from the Sun—appears to stretch toward it. This rare occurrence arises from the relative positions of the Sun, the Earth, and the comet, and is a type of optical illusion that occurs when the emitted dust appears, from Earth’s perspective, on the Sun-facing side.
